ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Other duties may be assigned.

 

Skill Set A            

  • Meets all safety training requirements
  • Knows and wears all PPE properly
  • Knows location of all emergency stops
  • Housekeeping
  • Lubricates equipment
  • Repairs of auxiliary components
  • Operates hand and power tools
  • Knows plant machine function
  • Assists in repairing machinery
  • Repairs forklifts
  • Adjusts and repairs butt welder
  • Adjusts and repairs stripper
  • Replaces lighting / ballast
  • Operates Man Lift
  • Knows in-depth electrical safety and general safety requirements
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of safe and proper use of basic electrical diagnostic equipment (volt/ohm meter, etc.)

Skill Set B            

  • Knows plant production equipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoots polarity
  • Knows multimeter functions (Fuses, conductivity)
  • Sets up and operates torches
  • Sets up and operates Arc and Mig welders
  • Completes basic troubleshooting - hydraulic, mechanical, electrical
  • Completes basic mechanical repair on all plant equipment
  • Operates draw machines, straight cut and welders for the purpose of troubleshooting their functions

Skill Set C                            

  • Removes and installs motors, reconnects to load and test run
  • Reads blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams and symbols
  • Diagnoses and corrects problems in AC motor drives and induction furnace drives
  • Proficient in all aspects of machine troubleshooting - electrical and mechanical
  • Troubleshoots electrical power distribution systems and makes replacements as need

Skill Set D                            

  • Advanced Electrical circuits - relays, contactors, motors, starters, DC drives - 24V, 110V, 220V, 277V, 480V
    • Welders
    • Shears
    • Mandrels
    • Cranes
    • Draw Machines
    • PLCs
    • Setup and calibrations - AC-DC drives
    • Install welder transformers
  • Draws electrical schematics
  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems utilizing tools such as ohm meter, volt meter, oscilloscope, and computer software
  • Reads a set of electrical prints and installs wire machinery to manufacturer's specifications
  • Solders electrical and electronic components
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of safe and proper use of the more advanced electrical diagnostic equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs control systems that utilize programmable controllers and similar devices
  • On call for after-hours service

Skill Set E                            

  • Demonstrates the ability to plan and direct installation of equipment
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead a small crew on a project
  • Makes program modifications within PLCs and provide necessary decantation for such modifications
  • Programs digital motor controllers
  • Installs new control equipment such as drives, controllers, and motors
